Walmart's big summer sale starts a day before and ends a day after Prime Day

You don't have to be a Walmart+ member to shop these, but it has its perks.
Walmart's big summer sale starts a day before and ends a day after Prime Day

UPDATE: Jul. 13, 2023, 10:55 AM EDT This story has been updated to include the latest and greatest Walmart+ Week deals.

One thing about Walmart is that it will never pass up a chance to mess with Jeff Bezos' bottom line.

The big box store is hosting a summer savings event called Walmart+ Week, a semi-spinoff of last June's Walmart+ Weekend that spans its electronics, toys, home, and apparel departments. The online-only sale began Monday, July 10 at 12 p.m. ET and runs through Thursday, July 13 at 7 p.m. ET, providing some tough competition for Amazon's Prime Day festivities (live for just 48 hours from July 11 to 12).

Unlike Prime Day deals, which were Prime member exclusives, Walmart+ Week discounts aren't gatekept behind a subscription fee — though paid members of the retailer's Walmart+ service got 24 hours of early access to the sale before it opened to the general public. Shoppers interested in signing up ahead of the retailer's next major sale can save 50% on an annual subscription through July 13. (Walmart+ members have also gotten early access to its Black Friday deals in years past, FYI.)

Walmart+ annual membership

Prime Day typically hogs the spotlight this time of year, perhaps rightfully so: Its eight-year existence is simply more established, and each iteration has featured uncontested deals on products from its many in-house brands. But Walmart+ Week has two big things going for it:

  1. There's no membership fee required to unlock deals — Walmart+ members just got a head start.
  2. The sale began a day before Prime Day and runs a day past it.

One thing Walmart has in common with Amazon is a penchant for messing with products' list prices, a practice that can make deals look better or worse than they actually are. It also loves to feature older, not-worth-it-anymores that have been discontinued by their manufacturers and feature products sold by questionable third-party sellers during sales like these. As such, we peruse its doorbusters with our finest fine-toothed combs.

Below, we're keeping a running list of the very best Walmart+ Week deals we truly recommend. If you see an original list price that doesn't match what Walmart's advertising, it's because we found a different (correct) one when we cross-checked it on a brand or manufacturer's site.

Note: All newly added deals are marked with a ?, while offers with a strikeout were either sold out or no longer available at their best sale price when we last looked.
