UPDATE: July 14, 2023, 10:59 a.m. EDT Home Depot's summer 2023 restock of the Original 12-Foot Skeleton ($299) has officially sold out alongside its new LED lighting kit ($29.88) and three-foot mini-me ($39.88), but just over 2,500 Inferno Pumpkin Skeletons ($379) remained at the time of writing. You can sign up to receive email alerts for possible future restocks on their respective product pages — no promises — or try to buy them in person; the entire 2023 Home Depot Halloween lineup will be in stores by Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 4. Our original story follows.
Home Depot is celebrating its 10th year in the Halloween decor business with some old and new faces — er, viscerocrania.
After teasing the drop in a series of tweets, the home improvement retailer released its massive 2023 collection of spine-tingling holiday decor in the early hours of Thursday, July 13. This includes the beloved Original 12-Foot Skeleton with LCD LifeEyes, the viral hit affectionately known as "Skelly," and its fiery Inferno Pumpkin friend (lover?), as well as a new three-foot version of the former that retails for only $40.
Home Depot is also selling a new $30 LED lighting kit for the original 12-footer that lights up its ribcage with colorful hues, a setup many current owners have been DIYing for years.
Priced at their usual $299 and $379, respectively, both giant skeletons are Home Depot exclusives that are currently available on its website while supplies last. (Ignore the wannabes sold by shady third-party merchants on Amazon.) This is the skeletons' second official restock of 2023 after a surprise release in late April marking the halfway point to Halloween, which sold out in a few days; there were about 4,200 originals and 2,800 infernos left in stock for shipping and delivery at the time of writing.
The three-footer and the LED lighting kit had both sold out online by 8 a.m. ET Thursday, but hopeful shoppers can sign up to receive email notifications if/when they come back in stock.
If you'd rather try your luck in person, Home Depot's entire 2023 Halloween lineup will be available in stores by Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 4). That includes several other larger-than-life props:
- A new 13-foot Giant-Sized Animated Jack Skellington ($399) was designed in partnership with Disney for the 30th anniversary of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
- A 9-foot-tall, 12.5-foot- wide Animated Predator of the Night ($349), a 7.5-foot Animated Marsh Monster ($199), and a 7-foot Animated Lethal Lily Witch ($249) helm the swampy new Dead Water collection.
- A 12-foot Giant-Sized Towering Ghost ($349) and a 7-foot, sci-fi-inspired Animated THD 3000 ($279) join Home Depot's Halloween Classics collection.
- Last year's 12-foot Animated Hovering Witch ($299) and 8-foot Animated Smoldering Reaper of Souls ($249) have both returned for 2023.
Most of the aforementioned Home Depot "giants" (the two skeletons included) were either sold out or limited to one per order the last time we checked.
July may seem early for launching a collection of Halloween decor, but summer has historically been the best time to buy Home Depot's spooky seasonal offerings. They're usually long sold out by the time fall rolls around, and October restocks are quite rare.
